La Belle Chocolat
This historic building originates from the late 16th Century. It was known back in those days as 'The Bell Inn'. There is believed to be a well in the courtyard, which was used to make the local brew. Edward Elgar (1857 - 1934) was a frequent visitor to Upton upon Severn and 'The Bell'. Lyndsey & Andrew Burney bought the property in December 2003 when it was a Frames & Drawing Studio. The building has been a Public House, Antique House and dates back before 1650. It was reopened as a Coffee / Tea Restaurant in February 2004. Bed & Breakfast flats overlook the Malvern Hills. Access is via the courtyard. Both rooms have the use of a kitchen with microwave and fridge. Provision in the form of a dining table and chairs has been made for 'take away' food. The unique coffee & licensed restaurant menu offers light snacks, lunches, sandwiches, toasties baguettes, sweets and cakes. Opening times are Monday: 11-16.00, Tuesday-Saturday: 10.30-16.00, Sunday: 11-16.00 open festival times, other Sundays 2.00-17.00. |
