31st July 2003 - the White Lion now has a ground floor disabled room
A former 16th Century coaching inn, the White Lion Hotel retains much of the old-world charm and character. The proprietors, Jon and Chris Lear have worked extremely hard to bring the White Lion Hotel up to modern standards whilst retaining and improving the original look of the premises. No problems with parking - the White Lion has its own car park.
Within a year of purchasing the hotel, the AA had awarded a Rosette for high standards of food, followed by another the following year. New awards are the RAC Dining Award for food service and the Minotel Gold for higher standard - the White Lion was in the top 10% of 200 Minotel Hotels.
