22nd & 23rd JulyThe pictures up to the Salvation Army's Emergency Unit were taken yesterday evening. There was a lovely atmosphere in town in the early evening with the street parties and live music. The Blues Festival flags were drying out in the Memorial Hall. Don't believe stories saying the levels are near to 1947 - the water is at least a foot below, as shown in the picture. The inside of The Star can be seen. The last three pictures were sent by Steve Howells and show medical supplies arriving in a helicopter, which landed in the Primary School playground. Radio 4 Today programme's reporter said this morning that a rescue had been carried out by a Sea King helicopter. Wrong! |
