6th December 2007Mayor Tim Perry invited many organisation from the town & surrounding area to a gathering in the Council Chamber. A presentation was made by Tim to Malvern Rotary Club to thank them, Ledbury Rotary Club and Malvern Lions Club for all the help they provided in the town after the July floods. Another presentation of a cheque for the Mayor's Flood Relief Fund was made by Richard Hannah. This was from money raised by donations for copies of the 'Summer of 2007' DVD. Richard moved too quickly for a photo! Peter Booth, who produced the DVD also presented a cheque to Peter Bellamy, Chairman of Upton in Bloom. The President of Malvern Rotary Club, whilst thanking Tim, indicated that it had been proposed that Upton Rotary Club should be set up again (the club closed a few years ago due to lack of members). Simon Wilkinson, as senior ex-Mayor thanked Tim for all his hard work during the floods. This was greeted by a tremendous round of applause as everyone appreciates how much Tim did, and has done, for the town. |
