July 2007 Floods

Waste disposal

Household waste from flooded houses may be transported by housing association and other non local authority vehicles which are prohibited from household waste sites directly to Hill and Moor waste site at Pershore for disposal. District Council's will need to provide a permit for disposal to the vehicle driver, this arrangement has been agreed to avoid disruption and congestion and at household waste sites which are already busy with private cars etc.

These Permits can be collected from the Malvern Hills District Councils Customer Services in Malvern.

Where consignments to Hill and More contain white goods such as fridges& freezers these should be loaded at the very front or very back of the load to facilitate separate removal.  The presence of such goods should be advised at arrival at Hill & Moor site .

County Council have made arrangements for disposal of animal bi-products at Coventry incinerator.  Please advise County Council of registration details of vehicles making deliveries to Coventry and the weight of animal bi-products on board.  It is essential that animal by-products are separated as much as possible from other waste.  Requests for transportation of animal bi-products can be co-ordinated via Customer Services on 01684 862151.

Worcester County Council are currently pursuing an extension to the opening hours at Hill & Moor to 19.00hrs  for the next 14 days.  They will advise on outcomes of discussions with planners and environment agency in due course.
