6th June 2009Display planting day. Wet. Very wet! Paul Thomas, the Mayor of Upton upon Severn, came to support the Upton in Bloom team and their volunteers in planting boats and riverside tubs. Carston, Malvern Gazette photographer, braved the rain, whilst Rosemary held the umbrella to keep Paul dry before he went off to a Community Care Coffee Morning. A Committee member was at each display area, supported by volunteers, and as they finished they all made their way to the riverside to plant the tubs. Brian, from Earls Croome Garden Centre, had laid out the plants ready for planting. A sterling effort by everyone meant all the work was finished within an hour! In the afternoon Peter, helped by Diane & Jackie, ascended a ladder to plant the trough on top of the public conveniences in Lower High Street. It was still raining! |
