Upton in Bloom

June 2010

On 5th June we planted most of the display boats and riverside tubs, helped by the Friends of Upton in Bloom. Town Mayor, Cllr Mrs Andrea Morgan came to the Old Churchyard to view the progress. The next day some of the hanging baskets were put up, followed by more on the 8th June. On the latter day, half of the riverside barrier baskets were put in place. The rest of them, along the railing by the Swan, can't be put in place until work on that area by the Environment Agency has completed sufficiently to ensure they won't get damaged. All the plants have been supplied by Cornerways Nursery, and many thanks to them for all their help. The weather on the 5th was perfect for planting. On the 8th the rain was bucketing down!
