On 19th May we held an informal meeting with the Friends of Upton in Bloom, to go through a list of jobs with which we need some help. Being hardy types, we met on Bridge House patio, even though Bill Hawkes did invite us in to the Function Room! Jobs, including clearing & planting displays, watering systems,weeding & digging permanent beds were all discussed. Two boats are being relocated - the low one on Hanley Road is being moved to the Old Churchyard and a larger boat put in it's place - hopefully this one won't be flooded as easily! The one at the Fire Station is going to 'Driftwood Corner' at the bottom of Rectory Road, and a new one put in place. |
