Mural

At a meeting with WCC Highways Department early last year, Upton in Bloom asked about having black graffiti removed from the bridge support on East Waterside (picture below). We were told that it would be easier to have a mural painted over the graffiti. So, yesterday Ann Harker, who kindly co-ordinated the painting of the mural, painted the support white, ready for art students from Hanley Castle High School to paint today. The students came with their design plan, transferred the design to the support and then painted it. We think they have done a fantastic job, and many thanks to Ann, art teacher Kate Callighan & the students.
