A fun day was organised for children (and adults!) on 3rd September. There were a range of organisations represented who offered the children the chance to try football, rugby, rowing, skateboarding and archery. Music came from various sources, a group, a radio bus and the Upton Youth Band. The Army cadets did a sterling job erecting the skateboard ramps, supervising the archery queue and manning their Army information stand. The Fire Brigade brought a fire engine. Mercia Inshore Search and Rescue exhibited their two Landrovers and one of their four boats. They also had their display van and organised a rope throwing competition with the offer of a trip on the river to anyone throwing the rope through a lifebelt.
