Water Festival 2006

Upton Opticians were awarded the cup for The Water Festival Best Window Display. Luke Stallard, Managing Director of Upton Glass & Glazing, who initiated the cup for the first time this year, is seen here, presenting the cup.

"It was a real pleasure," he said, " to be able to make a contribution to my home town." Although his company services shop windows from as far afield as Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester it was good to "come home".

By coincidence Luke was wearing his new glasses just obtained from Upton Opticians! "They are brilliant" he said, " I never knew how much I was missing!"  The fact that the cup had gone to his supplier was pure coincidence. In fact the display was judged by John Thompson, The Mayor of Upton, whilst Luke was away on his honeymoon.

Sue Mynard of Upton Opticians said, "It is ironic that a maker of glasses had received a window display cup from a glass company!"
