17th Water Festival, 2007
25th August
After nearly a year in the preparation, Upton Tourism & Trade Association had a perfect first day for the Water Festival. The flags, made at workshops organised by the Blues Festival Committee, by local groups and school children were again flying on the bridge and Pepperpot grounds. Mayor Tim Perry, introduced by MC 'Sir' Barry Kitchin, opened the festival. A large audience watched Jazz bands, solo singers, the Upton Factor Talent Competition, Owls, Ferrets, youth groups, Didgeredoo workshops, Punch & Judy, street entertainment and raft races to rescue stranded maidens.
The stage was provided by Wyvern FM and was sponsored by Serenity Spa & The Anchor Inn.
