A message from Richard Hannah

I would like to thank all the organisations, Publicans and traders and citizens of Upton for their support and hard work to give a real FeelGood atmosphere over the last three days. Thanks are also due to the artists, performers, technicians and "gophers" for giving their time and talents so generously.
Richard Hannah - Organiser - 24 September 2007

In July 2007 devastating floods occurred in many parts of the country, including Upton upon Severn. With their usual spirit, the people of Upton started the clean up in order to get back to normality as soon as possible.

Richard Hannah, Chairman of Upton Folk Festival, proposed the FeelGood Festival to other festival organisers and local community groups as a means of cheering up the town.

The FeelGood Festival will be held in the Pubs and in the Streets, and will include:

Folk Clubs
Sessions
Informal concerts
Morris Dancing in the streets
A Procession
Vehicle cavalcade
Ceilidh(s) to the Amazing Expanding Band with callers
Anne Other, Toby Confirmed, Hans Four, Gipsy Turn etc.
Variety Show
Stalls
Visits over the weekend by vehicles from the Welland Steam Rally
Choirs
Poetry competition

This is not a fund raising event - it is to bring life back into the town after the floods, and we want you here Feeling Good! But, if you can't come and want to contribute to the victims of the flood in Upton please send donations to:

'The Mayor's Charity Account', Upton upon Severn Town Council, The Memorial Hall, 8 Old Street, Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire, WR8 0HA

At present there is a bias towards Folk performers but also have Choirs, Jazz and Blues acts.

Although the list is growing all the time we are still looking for more headline acts and anyone else who wants to join in the weekend.

The FeelGood Festival will be free of charge and no artists will be paid but bucket collections will be made to defray unavoidable expenses.

For further information as it becomes available please check the News page

All performers welcome - if you are coming, please let us know via our Contact page
