25th November 2011Anthony Perry, Environment Agency Flood Risk Manager, welcomed everyone and thanked a lot of people and organisations who have been involved in any way with the flood defence planning and work. He was followed by Tim Farr, Chairman of Regional Flood & Coastal Committee; Cllr Mike Morgan, Malvern Hills District Council & Cllr Andrea Morgan, Mayor of Upton and Harriett Baldwin MP official unveiled the plaque, the gates were then closed and Harriett sprinkled a bottle of river Severn water in front of them as a symbolic gesture that the Severn wouldn't flood New Street again.. |
