I have been trying to find out more about his family and in particular about his own life before that tragic day 88 years ago today.

Francis' sister Amy was my Great Aunt. She married my Great Uncle Luther Paxton, in Richmond, North Yorkshire.

One of his other sisters, Francis Hester (or Ester?) was a teacher in 1901 and I understand that she becameheadmistress of a school in the town and did tremendous work in Upton.

His father, George was a cellarman in 1901 (I wonder which public house?) and previously (in 1881) lived with his mother in Court Street. The family seemed to have moved to School Lane by 1901 and at the time Francis died, his father had also passed away and his mother was living in New Street.

If anybody can help me with any further information I would be so very grateful. I feel sure that other relatives must still live in the Upton area.
