Upton-upon-Severn Education Foundation The Education Foundation was set up by three Upton citizens in the early Seventeen Hundreds to encourage the education of GIRLS in the Upton-upon-Severn Parish. Today, despite 'equal opportunities', the Trust is still required to use its income to encourage girls' education either by grants to individual students or by providing 'extras' for the schools local girls attend. Females under the age of 25 years who are in Higher Education and live, or whose parents are resident in the Parish of Upton-upon-Severn, are eligible to apply for a grant. Mrs J C White, If you are a Student in Further or Higher Education and live in the Parishes of Ripple, Bushley, Queenhill or Holdfast, The Ancient Parish of Ripple Trust can help you! This charitable Trust is able to make financial grants to students in further or higher education towards the purchase of books and equipment necessary for their courses and may also be able to help with travel between home and college. For details and an application form please contact the Clerk to the Trustees: Mr John Willis The Trustees will meet again in March to consider applications which should be received by Friday 15th October 2011
