Bridge Painting

The bridge colours

November 2011. Most of the bridge has been encapsulated and work to remove the old paint back to bare metal continues. Work started on the scaffolding under the bridge.

On 24th November the coverings were removed, the road made suitable for two-way traffic, and the traffic controls taken away. Instead of Duchess Blue, the colour is yellow. Worcester County Council have said it will be repainted in blue next year. On the left hand side of the bridge there was a broken reflector which looks as if it was painted over the last time the bridge was painted. It has been repainted yet again.

The story about the bridge has been on the front page of the Worcester News; on BBC Hereford & Worcester; BBC West Midlands, the Daily Express, Daily Mirror and perhaps other news outlets.
