The Library, Upton Hub & Upton Police Station

9th September, official opening

The High Sheriff of Hereford & Worcester, Chairman of Worcester County Council, Chairman of Malvern Hills District Council, and West Mercia Police came to officially open the new Upton Hub. Lt-Col Michael Robin Ogilvie Leigh, High Sheriff, cut the ribbon.

Opened on 28th April, 2008 the extended building has been very well thought out and is extremely light and airy. The reception desk is shared by all three occupants of the building. The Police have their own private area, and the Hub has two interview rooms, one of which will be shared with the Citizens Advice Bureau. A meeting room is at the end of the building, and sliding soundproof doors can close it off. A slight problem with the automatic doors not wanting to open for the official ribbon cutting didn't detract from the opening.
