Narrowboat sinking

A narrowboat moored opposite The Plough had it's moorings adjusted to allow for the river rising. However, the river level dropped and the narrowboat was partially marooned on the steps. The owner arranged with Mercia Rescue to come at 7.30pm and adjust the mooring ropes. Dave Walker rang me so I could take some pictures, but when I got there at about 7.15pm, I found the boat half under water. Mercia Rescue are going to try and stabilise the narrowboat, but it will take a crane to lift it out of the water. In the following weeks the river rose and completely covered the boat. Eventually even the fenders disappeared. The boat has gradually reappeared, and what a sad sight it is now.
