Public Conveniences
Lower High Street

I feel I should add my comments to the debate regarding the closure of the Toilets. Today I saw your picture of the boarded up toilets; what would appear to be the final nail in the coffin? Excuse  the pun.  I live in Prestbury Cheltenham and have very fond memories of Upton dating back to the late Sixties, when I was courting a young lady who lived in
Old Street. I still visit Upton most weekends, especially during the summer and festival times, just to take a walk on the Ham and visit the local shops and surrounding streets. To me it's like stepping back into a serene world, which has changed very little for the worse.

The decision to remove this very useful facility is both short sighted and penny pinching. Not only does it deprive visitors (especially physically impaired), but also the many workers and helpers who get involved helping during the numerous festival events.

I know my lone voice won't have any effect. But if you don't ask, you don't get.

The phrase 'penny pinching' is interesting as it was used in the information supplied on the page from the 'West Worcestershire Liberal Democats Malvern Hills District Council Group' which can be seen from the Public Conveniences index...
