On January 21st 2009, the Inaugural Meeting of Upton upon Severn Town Partnership took place. It was chaired by Simon Smith, Economic Development Manager from Malvern Hills District Council.

Attendees included District Councillors, Upton Town Councillors, Ripple Parish Council, representatives from businesses, Civic Society, Upton in Bloom.

Simon gave the attendees a brief background to the Partnership, members of which includes:

Upton upon Severn Civic Society

Any other organisation who wish to be represented

The Constitution was presented, and with a few amendments, was adopted.

Officers were proposed:
Chairman - Upton Mayor Councillor Tim Perry
Vice-Chairman - Simon Wilkinson
Treasurer - Graham Williams
Secretary - to be provided by MHDC

Suggestions for the Partnership to pursue including:
New paving for the town
Entry into Calor Village of the Year 2009

The date of the next meeting is Wednesday 4th February, at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall. Meetings will be held on a quarterly basis.
