A car hit the sleepers at the beginning of the restrictions which removed it's tyre, bent the wheel rim and bent the axle.
An ambulance needed to get to the other side of the viaduct and tried going through on the pavement. He managed at the bridge end but had to reverse back as he couldn't get through at the Marina end.
As the traffic was building up, two public spirited gentlemen managed to get the spare tyre onto the car and, with some difficulty as the wheels weren't pointing in the same direction, managed to reverse the car out and parked it out of the way awaiting rescue.
