Viaduct April 2005

1st April. Work progresses on building up both the roadside and the base for the new bit of road linking the viaduct with the A4104.

11th April. The tie-in road is being surfaced on one side. The viaduct will soon be surfaced. Once this is done, traffic will be directed over the viaduct to enable the other side of the tie-in road to be surfaced. Not long now!

12th April. All the viaduct surface has tarmac on it now. Can't see the join with the tie-in!

18th April. Today the traffic was directed over one side of the viaduct to allow the other side of the tie-in road to be constructed. Nearly there!

23rd April. The second half of the tie-in road is well under way and the turning for East Waterside has been formed.

27th April. Traffic was diverted back onto the temporary road today whilst the expansion joints are finished off and ready for white line painting tomorrow. The entrance to Upton Marina is finished, as is the turning to the temporary road, which will eventually be the road to East Waterside.
